Why use a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)?

Sign Language Interpreters are trained to interpret between British Sign Language and English. They may also be able to provide communication support to people who lipread and people who are deafblind.

Neutral
Sign Language Interpreters do not take sides or give advice. They will give information on issues relating to interpreting.
Independent
Sign Language Interpreters enable you to make your own decisions. Through a Sign Language Interpreter you can get access to information, resources and services directly.
Confidential
Sign Language Interpreters will not make use of information gathered at assignments, or share it with others.
Accountable
If you are not satisfied with the Sign Language Interpreter service you have received or want to comment on how to improve the service, please contact the Manager, Sign Language Interpreter Service at the address shown.
