British
Sign Language is the first language
of any Deaf people.
British
Sign Language is a true language, and not only gestures.
British
Sign Language users can sign the equivalent of everything
that can be said in spoken language.
As
with any other language, an interpreter
can be used to allow you to communicate
with a British Sign Language user.
Sign
Language Interpreters should be Registered
or Associate Trainee Members of the
Scottish Association of Sign Language
Interpreters or recognised by Glasgow
City Council.
All
Glasgow City Council Sign Language Interpreters are
bound by a Code of Practice to protect
the rights of those involved in the
interpreting assignment.
